sherds of black-on-red ware in Brahmagiri 1A: The painted ware is buff or red-slipped. The red-slipped pottery is burnished and salt-glazed. The painting was done after firing with brownish purple coloured ochre. The decorative patterns consist of simple horizontal and vertical bands, criss-cross or lattice and highly conventionalized plant patterns.
